Day 7

We split in to three groups and went off to do different activities (tree climb, high ropes course and canoeing). The boys had an excellent time with many boys having first time experiences. Connor Lawrence and Jordan Jones excelled today conquering their fear of heights!!!!

Tonight we are having another camp-fire and doing a polar bear, this involves wearing  a life jacket, jumping in a really cold lake (only into very shallow water, don't worry completely safe) then in to a really hot sauna!!! should be fun, speak soon.

Day 6

Today was mainly a travelling day, we left Port Moody School at 8:30am and headed to Vancouver Island. We arrived in Sthrathcomma Lodge at aroud 3pm. After playing several team building game we settled down to dinner (all organic food) some boys struggled with the change!!!

We then all sat around a camp-fire and exchanged stories and jokes. Boys ahd an early night in preparation for a busy day tomorrow.

Day 5

Today the boys went to MetroCity Mall to do some shopping and buy presents for their loved ones!!!!

We then travelled tyo Port Moody School to play United Rugby Club.

United Rugby Club 12 v Tonyrefail School 42

The game was played in difficult conditions and challenging circumstances as we only had 17 players availiable for selection (due to sickness bug) some who were playing were also feeling the after effects of the bug!!. The game was a good contest with yet another physical Canadian team with some big hits going in off both teams. Tonyrefail were first to pounce with a try from Leon Crump and was quickly followed by a try from Wesley Gibbons. After some precise kicking from Jordan Jones Tonyrefail at an attacking scrum 5 yards out, Kieron Belmont picked and after beating several defenders fed Man of The Match Jack Parry to score. Tonyrefail continued to attack and scored further try through Lee Davies. The seconfd half was a lot closer and United started to come in to the game scvoring an earlier try. Then through continued blasts at United defence Leon Crump went over for the score. The next try went to Tom lewis, his first try for the school!!! Overall it was an excellent win.

The boys then socialised with their hosts and were keen to get home with hosts and enjoy the night.

Day 4

Apologies for delay in writing on the blog but have had a few problems with internet access.

Today we took them swimming in Watermainia which gave the boys a chance to relax and recoup from the previous days game. Boys took full advantage of sauna, hot tubs and water slides. Then we headed to a local restaurant for dinner. Unfortunately the group has been hit by a sickness bug, so the majority of boys are being sick but only lasted for a few hours.

We then travelled to United Rugby Club where they met their first set of hosts. The boys then went off to spend their evening with their hosts.

Day 3

Most of the boys have now adjusted to the time difference. We took the boys out for a proper breakfast this morning, some having steak and eggs!!!! Then we caught the bus to Richmond Rugby Club. They gave us an excellent welcome and even met a few people fromm Wales.

Richmond 0 Tonyrefail 68

Richmond started strongly and showed our boys how physical Canadian Rugby is. After a shaky 10 minutes, Tonyrefail imposed their class and experience on the Richmond team. Tonyrefail played some good Rugby scoring 7 tries in the first half (Connor Lawrence 2, Leon Crump, Welsey Gibbons, Connor Morgan, Arron Donoghue, Jordan Jones). The second half saw Richmond come back at Tonyrefail and they competed right to the final whistle, Tonyrefail scored a further three tries through Connor Lawrence, Leon Rees and Rhys Taylor. A good start to the tour.

After the game we had food made a few presentations. Leon 'Tank' Rees was awarded Man of the Match and special mention goes to Masson Roderick who pushed Leon very close for this award.

Later that evening we took the boys bowling.

Day 2

Connor morgan is relieved as he has had his teeth sorted out in the local dentist. This morning we went for a nice breakfast at a local restuaraunt. We had a simpkle but confy bus but it was smelly haha. At half past 11 we had a training session which didnt go to well because of the aches and pains from the flight . But, hopefully we will pull through tomorow and stuff these canadians. We then took a very long and steep walk up a mountain which is called Grouse Grind mountain where there was a massive Grissley. Kieran belmont, byron edwards and leon rees never made it to the top as the walk was very tiering. Now we're off to the ice hockey game between Vancover Giants and brandon. It should be fun as there's alot of fighting in the sport even though we have no idea about it .
From Kieran belmont :) x
